A beautiful Wave Crest hinged tobacco jar decorated by C.F. Monroe, circa 1892. The jar features hand-painted pink, purple, green, and blue floral motifs with “Tobacco” across the front, accented by original brass mounts.
Although C.F. Monroe was the decorating company, the glass itself was produced by esteemed manufacturers of the era, including Pairpoint, Mt. Washington, and Rodefer Glass Co. Measuring 4.5 inches tall, 5 inches wide, and 5 inches deep, this jar remains in excellent condition.
A refined and rare example of late 19th-century decorative art, it would make a distinguished addition to any collection or display.
